These are several paintings of my refrigerator and my dishwasher. As much as flowers, teapots and other ordinary items inspired hundreds of years of still-life study in Western art, contemporary household appliances also deserve considered attention by artists who spend time in the kitchen. In other words, celebrate the familiar.

So far the refrigerators include homage to two artists, Gustave Klimt and Henri Rouseau, to pets who rule, and a memorial to the third week of October, 2007 when the Red Sox won, the shuttle took off and fire devastated southern California. The most recent one celebrates aviation, and includes some content only pilots would appreciate.

The refrigerators are 22" x 30" on cold-pressed 140 lb. watercolor paper, dishwashers at approximately 18" x 24".
