The delicate grace of this neighbor's gift at Christmas time inspired me to try to capture it by "weaving" (the colors are warmer than the digital image indicates and the background matte subtly contrasts with the weaving). I have been told that this painting has a Scandanavian overtone, due to the slender scale and muted colors of the plant's foliage.
